     @FediThing I thought about it but I can't afford a server to set it up on, and the other ways are, as you said, a bit technical for me.

     I wish PeerTube had a chat. I would love to support services that support the Fediverse.

     There is a peertube chat plugin, @brandkopf used to use it on livestreams.

     Maybe you can ask your peertube server admin about the plugin?

     If it's any consolation, PeerTube mention they will be fixing bugs on the chat plugin on their official roadmap (right at the end):
