     @adamconover @pluralistic Just started listening, but I can't help but think that this episode got the "explicit" label simply due to vocalizing the coined term "enshittification" ?

     @adamconover Nice to hear @pluralistic mention @tomjennings in passing!

     Though that tale explored in depth (particularly with mention of Gary Kildall and Digital Research which weren't mentioned) could probably be an episode in and of itself.

     The IBMPC was definitely not designed to be commodity hardware, and it wasn't thanks to M$/Bill Gates nor Paul Allen things ended up the way they did.
