   If you use Mastodon through a desktop computer, you can install a special browser extension called FediAct which lets you directly interact with other servers' websites:

   This can be very useful if you are following web links to other servers, for example in the listings on https://fedi.directory

     "Why does it need permission for all websites?"

     "The addon needs to determine whether or not the site you are currently browsing is a Mastodon server. For that to work, it requires access to all sites. Otherwise, each existing Mastodon server would have to be explicitly added."

     I use FediAct for Firefox. Seems to work as advertised. I haven't had any cross-server troubles. ?
