     you could probably build a usable client for nostr in a week (or a weekend if you did some coke) but it would have lots of bugs and edge cases that would take weeks to fully discover and then solve and you might have to go back and rewrite large parts of your initial code to solve them. This is one of the reasons why soapbox still has so many problems despite beign in development for ages at thispoint

     @bot @errante @animeirl I mean some languages exist to solve specific problems, some languages are a joke (literally) its kind of all over the place. Like C# and C++ is good for video games for a lot of technical reasons but the most basic reason I can give to a total beginner is performance and existing knowledge
     
     same with JavaScript for web (the ecosystem is massive and you'll just import everything (gross over simplification))
