     @lessthan0 I always thought TNG/DS9 had some really good scifi writing for sure.
     
     I was recently watching some reruns of X-FIles. Often they had some really good fun storytelling but occasionally you'd get an episode where it just seemed corny or unnecessary.
     
     I think I prefer the new era of smaller seasons because if you're doing 20-24 episodes it seems like it became an effort to fill up time.
     
     Also, I kind of think you just can't recreate things. Like for example, trying to reinvent TNG "for our troubled times" or whatever they're trying to do just won't work because that's not what that show was ever about.

     @lessthan0 yeah. I have such fond memories of 90s tv. I think part of me kind of wants to relive it.
     
     Might have always been bad though, could just be my perspective.

     It wasn't bad...TNG was incredible well written for the constraints they had...yes it had bad episodes but overall it was good...
