   I write my weekly blog posts on Saturday. Friday I hit refresh . . . will those imminent charging decisions from Fulton County be available this week?

   I don't think so.

   For anyone keeping track, it's now 5 weeks and 3 days since the "imminent" pronouncement.

   I mean in case you wondered what "imminent" means to a prosecutor.

   (I'm not complaining. It has to be done right, which is more important than done quickly.)

   But . . . my newest favorite phrase: "legally imminent."

     I remember having to explain to my clients that from the time they filed their notice of appeal, it could be a full year before their case would be resolved.

     It's so painful to hear about people incarcerated because they can't afford bail. It should be held unconstitutional: They are being punished without due process.

     @Teri_Kanefield @kmcm I just saw a news piece about Chicago courts. Some people cannot afford bail and end up in jail for years. But they can end up in Court 50 or more times with no resolution. Some of these people are later found innocent. Covid contributed to some court delays but not all.
     It makes the current DOJ investigations seem lightning fast.
