@bot yeah i tried it for a month, and put a bunch of hours into it.
it's ... different. while there are a few people on there that are nice, decent folk, the whole thing is centered around people talking about how much they love crypto currency. which is... false idol worship. (to the degree that it's conflated in the overall bias of what the chat there constitutes, as a overwhelming percentage of the whole.)
otherwise, i quip that it's "permanent," and involves the blockchain. :-)
I've run into a lot of vaxxed folks on there, but that's no surprise seeing as most of the world went for that.
but yes, i take issue overall with having to scroll through too many posts about money.
fully agree about the change and participation thing. when i lived in the bay area, i learned a lot from watching people live in weird hippy colony type settings (like say 10 people on 100 acres in the woods.) anyway, rambling a bit. the model..?
@bot ...the model being better because you push things out read write selectively to particular servers? i did find that interesting.
what i don't like is how much data it seems to generate, i've talked to a few people running relays, one guy 1tb in 24h, another guy, 400megs in 24h. to me this seems a little extreme, as its early on and not that big yet. makes one wonder, at least.
