     In a few years Nostr will be just another entry in a long list of niche software, abandoned by the devs and community for the next wonderful shiny thing that is totally better and different (but actually the same yet again)

     A more practical cynicism: What sets apart critical FOSS infrastructure from abandonware is usually funding. Since both Fedi and Nostr have funding, they’re probably not going anywhere anytime soon. If one becomes a universal standard (like Chrome for browsers) then it’ll probably be kept up basically forever.
