Hell I don't even want to be communicating with social media through a browser. If it were up to me, we'd still be using something like mozilla firefox 1.x / dillo / elinks which, imho is where browsers had their peak /oldmangrumbling -

That’s a good thing actually, given that a chat app built into the browser might want to offer a selection of one or more audio inputs or outputs. Discord does this I thinkI guess an app might want to enable multiple cameras as well, so that’s why chrome browser needs to be able to detect usb connections and disconnects

something went horribly wrong by like netscape 6.x though.
i suspect most of what went wrong was "microsoft" though it's possible "AOL/TimeWarner/RIAA" was a lot of it too.darniil likes this. -

darniil (darniil@chudbuds.lol)'s status on Tuesday, 28-Feb-2023 23:25:28 JST darniil Was centericq a port of ICQ? That was my first chat program back in the day (probably before mIRC), and it had one feature that I absolutely loved that none of the others did - the ability to drag a name off the list window and have it float wherever you wanted it. -
