   First confronted with an updated #Inkscape on my new laptop.

   Gazillion UI differences, and I'm sure they make sense and people love them.

   For me, it is like an entirely new program I have to learn. A quick #SVG edit becomes a major relearning experience. How do I get these tool panels back? Why are they tabs now that don't fit the right sidebar? How do I get them to slide vertically accordion-wise like they did before? Etcetera.

     Why does text change color, if I just change the font? Where have the color settings moved to?

     @humanetech Sorry about that.

     I think the text color thing is a bug, it sounds like one.

     The panels won't go vertical any more, we were forced into that change and had to fall back onto tabs. Although hey can be docked in more places (left size etc)

     No problem and kudos to you and everyone working on #Inkscape. It is fabulous software. I'll get over this :D

     I just have a new laptop and there's a gazillion and one small install / new apps paper cuts that keep me distracted, is all. And then I toot about them ?
