     Well, it looks like the "shrimp" they infect also aren't really shrimp: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/news/article/3675/parasite_turns_shrimp_into_voracious_cannibals. lots of things are called shrimp but only animals in the caridean infraorder are true shrimp

     depends on the species. I don't know what species "river shrimp" refers to but it's presumably not one of the species used for ornamental shrimp
