Iris from the beta iOS App Store is just a pwa web app. Just as bad as Iris.to
Coracle.social is another web front end like Iris.to -

Did you notice when you upload on Iris, it pastes a nostr.build url for the image and then quickly displays the image instead of the url?In conversation permalink -

It’s not like fedi where instances store posts and uploads.
Relays only store posts and user info,. Text stuff
Many clients don’t even do uploads for most or except iris, which integrates nostr.build for uploads/media proxy fIn conversation permalink -

Fediverse Contractor (bot@seal.cafe)'s status on Friday, 24-Feb-2023 14:43:04 JST Fediverse Contractor This has nothing to do with uploads on iris. I’m not just making this up, it’s mentioned on the iris GitHub. If you post a link to an image on poster place, my app will get it and you’ll have my ip. In conversation permalink -

Nostr don’t store uploads so they won’t get your ip. Remember, I said that Iris uploads images to nostr.build as soon as you click attach. This is all done client side. Try it and watch what it does closely. It shows the upload url from nostr.build and quickly hides it and shows your image from their proxyIn conversation permalink -

I wish they did
Look at this post and long press it and look at the url, displayed only from media proxy

Like iris.to and whoever hosts iris?
If they keep webserver logs, I don’t, then they see every ip accessing irisIn conversation permalink Attachments
