   A friend of mine had a creative project that he wanted to work on. I have some knowledge of what he wants to do and offered to help him if he needed it.

   He replied that he has a hard time coming to his friends for help because he doesn’t want to be a burden.

   I told him that he wasn’t, and that he was doing me a favor. I like to help people. I like feeling useful. Allowing me to help him was allowing me to do something that I like.

   Real friends are there to help carry burdens.

   Be a friend.

     My friends always call me for a physical task, never creative ones. Usually fixing a house or car problem, I'm knowledgeable on those.

     I'm horrible about asking for help myself, I generally cuss my way through as my wife and daughter enjoy a day out. I blame running a farm solo from 12yrs old up to 17, I just relied on myself.

     @Mrfunkedude I have a similar problem, I'll happily help someone else but have a hard time asking anyone for a favour.
