     @gamercat After I took the picture I put a spare pillow under that blanket.
     
     A pillow turns out to be the extract dimensions of that box so it works perfectly and now it's extra comfy.
     
     He seems to prefer that over his bed under my bed now.
     
     He's in a box so he still feels safe and protected but he also is closer to me i.e he can look and see me sleeping on the bed and isn't under the bed where he's "further" from me.

     @gamercat They like boxes because they offer safety and protection. They aren't out in the open. They're hidden. However, they're aware of their surroundings with their hearing so they feel safe in boxes because they have the upper hand. It offers protection, safety, and the ability for surprise attacks plus to yeet out of danger before the danger becomes a hazard.
