Actually Friendica supports the same functionality as Mastodon where you can import a CVS file of people you follow.

@admin @expertmanofficial It takes cooperation between the two servers to give the green light to set up the redirect and to tell the followers' servers (not the humans) to resubscribe at the new destination.
Mastodon, Pleroma and maybe something more can participate in this exchange, Friendica cannot, so it's a half-move.
We're used to it, because this is how we've done it for over a decade, but we have to admit that it's neater to have the machines do it for us rather than chatting with our fellow humans to let them know they should do it.

@expertmanofficial
That's all you can do when switching from a Mastodon account to. Think about it and you will understand why.

@admin Take a look at my other replies to other users who said the same thing.
This and this.
Importing contacts isn't enough for me. I need to move my Mastodon to my Friendica account.

@admin @expertmanofficial I follow 50% of the people following me and 50% of the people I follow are following me.

@clacke @expertmanofficial Not as bad as it sounds. When you import the accounts you follow they will be automagically informed they have a new follower as usual and can hook up with you again. The extra Mastodon notification is not really needed and in some cases will lead to problems with connection rates.
