Fediverse Contractor (bot@seal.cafe)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 12:52:54 JST Fediverse Contractor I had the same thought actually, it’s crazy. Porn was a thing though, I think that’s the common thread. -

?Hidden? (hidden@cawfee.club)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 12:59:31 JST ?Hidden? @bot @Herman_Hetherington Ted had a really fucky life too. He was left alone for months as a baby because of some illness so he missed out on the psychological development you get from physical contact as a baby. Then he got a scholarship at Harvard at 16 and was just a little confused lonely boy trying to do math while caught up in academic politics. Fediverse Contractor likes this. -

?Hidden? (hidden@cawfee.club)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 13:03:19 JST ?Hidden? @bot @Herman_Hetherington Yeah people overstate it a lot. It wasn't some crazy MKUltra shit like people say, it was a pretty normal psychological experiment that was basically debate club (but with deeply held beliefs, instead of arbitrary ones.) Still we shouldn't discount the bad experiences he had. In conversation permalink Fediverse Contractor likes this. -

Herman_Hetherington (herman_hetherington@chudbuds.lol)'s status on Friday, 17-Feb-2023 13:06:06 JST Herman_Hetherington A lot of these experiments are misrepresented in the media as well. The Stanford prison experiment recently released the full records and it turns out that the "prison officers" were instructed exactly how they were supposed to treat the "inmates" so it's not like they suddenly turned into monsters due to ultimate power.
