Top-notch observation disguised as a meme. It's not new, but it's great.

@ascott @tb Also: Worry about the futuristic bacteria and viruses you're bringing back to an era that has never seen them!

Quick, somebody write a novel where this explains the Spanish Flu!

People traveling to the past should be way more worried about their gut bacteria. Imagine what 1800s food and water would do to you... Not pretty.

Wait what? Time travel isn't real and you're just making a point? Oh.... uh, nevermind ?

@Cleopatra @tb Besides, given that we don't have any knowledge of the future, I don't think we should be murdering random babies on the off-chance that they might turn out to be a psychopathic murderous dictator.

I am of the 'if you kill Hitler someone else will do what he did' school of thought. I think in patterns rather than coincidences. It is fun to reduce historical events to that one pivotal moment ?, but in almost every case that pivot was bound to turn soon anyway.
I think we can (and should) change the present, but i think that is way to hard work for any timetraveler to accidentally screw up.

The future does not change because i accidentally stepped on a butterfly and caused a storm, the future changes because we collect thousands of butterflies and make that storm happen!! ?

@Cleopatra @tb It's both, but only a time traveler can know the potentially pivotal moments.
