I am so exhausted by the discourse about .lol shutting down. Elon Musk literally bought twitter in a tantrum, and has made it so you basically cannot avoid seeing right wing disinformation in your feed and somehow Mastodon, where you have full control over your feed and can move from instance to instance is The Bad Thing.
No, it's not perfect, and nothing is, but come on, this is an enormous improvement.
