I have changed my settings to auto-delete toots that are older than 2 months, except for those toots with more than 10 likes or 10 boosts.

In this way, I save server space (making running costs cheaper for mine host); I don't have to worry about losing a ton of material, should the server fail; and most importantly of all, my timeline will look as if I am a super-popular tooter.
