@icorn @OskarImKeller @tante: I always find it hard to judge if such numbers are meant to be valid for "everyone" or just as an average. You know, #neurodiversity and everything. If the circadian cycle of individual humans can deviate rather wildly from the 24 hour standard, I'd guess something similar goes for the standard sleep cycle of 90 minutes?

Oskar im Keller (oskarimkeller@fnordon.de)'s status on Monday, 13-Feb-2023 17:00:49 JST Oskar im Keller @tante I once read that sleep cycles are roughly 90 minutes, and if you have to get up in the middle of one, you feel very tired. So when I have to set an alarm I always try to calculate in increments of 90 minutes from my estimated sleep time (if at all possible). Either that or I sleep until I wake up, which is easier without kids, I know.

tante (tante@tldr.nettime.org)'s status on Monday, 13-Feb-2023 17:00:50 JST tante In the last weeks I tried to sleep more (7 hours a night, sometimes even 7.5 hours) but it makes me so fucking tired. Like the 5.5 to 6 hours I've been running also don't really let me feel rested but for some reason sleeping more makes things worse.
