@p i would love to host from house ngl. Stability of electricity has gone up considerably too, i could, if unprepared lose at most like a day because of ISP interruption but yeah, i could get a business line and get solid SLA.
How is fse setup? your hardware at the DC? also do they enforce stuff like "you may not host this sort of content" even though it's legal and they are just woke?
- bits :waifu: likes this.

Yeah, but I don't think of it as painful.
For my own part, I don't think it's really worth it to buy a dedicated server. You're basically renting hardware and it's not worth it in my opinion. You can get a refurbished box for not much, set it up, carry it to a datacenter. (Or just run a bigger pipe to your house.) This stuff turns out cheaper, plus it's your hardware that you own.

@p I need a bit of your advice here.
I am considering getting a dedicated server, but I have absolutely no experience outside of VPS Codemonkeying.
What is provider I can go with? I am looking at Hetzner AX line, it is cheaper and man those specs look juicy. But what I am not sure about is the work I need to put in to maintain one. I am basically jumping in blind. I do understand that I have to be responsible for hardware failures.
