@Mastodon This is excellent
@Mastodon thanks for the accessibility updates. Voiceover doesn't seem to read notifications properly. If you explore by touch, or drag your finger. Voiceover reads the notifications properly, but if you flick left or right to go to the previous, or next notification voiceover doesn't seem to read the notifications consistently. Voiceover also is having issues with reading image, descriptions consistently on the timeline. It's a great start to making your Atmore accessible. Thank you again.
@neave @Mastodon Yeah, it’s pretty bad. The very first random server it gave me says if you’re not in New Zealand or connected to it, you can’t sign up. If I’m a new user looking at Mastodon for the first time, that’s a giant turnoff for me. Especially if I don’t understand the server concept, which is frankly not well explained on the app’s splash screen.
@neave @Mastodon I tried it and I can assure you it is not excellent.
@Mastodon @neave OK, this was my first sign up attempt in the follow-up version. I would not say this is a better experience for newcomers haha.
@MikeBeas @Mastodon @neave That's on us, that server should not be in the General category but it is. I can update that in our database.
@Mastodon would appreciate an option to turn on/off haptic feedback in the settings pretty please and thank you. As it stands right now there is too much haptic feedback going on for taps, refreshing, new toots, etc. that it almost feels like overkill. Ideally it’d be great if we had further control for what can and can’t use the haptic feedback option. Appreciate any updates nonetheless! ?
@MikeBeas @Mastodon @neave I just moved this one to the Religion category. There might be some categorization issues on the data side, but in principle, this should work. Of course, nothing beats just directing people to mastodon.social by default.
@Gargron @Mastodon @neave fair enough, but it seems like a lot of servers are gonna get caught off guard by this.
i was given this server for Jewish folks, which i am not. worries me that people with anti-semitic views could be pushed onto such a server by default and create problems for the users and admins there. even if they wouldn’t seek out the server to join, it is now presented to them as the default here. a bit of an issue i think.
@Mastodon no editing? :sadness:
@Mastodon Glad to see this but the official app really needs editing posts before I can use it full time.
@Mastodon Sadly adding alt text for images on the iPad is still impossible because it is blocked by the bottom bar from the post which jumps up to cover the alt text.
@Mastodon android when ?
@Mastodon Still kind of "middle of the pack" of the six Mastodon iPhone apps I have installed (and that's after deleting a few that were trash). Would jump up to the top 2 or 3 if it would show me a list of the hashtags that I have followed.
@Mastodon where is mastodon support?
@Mastodon Normally I use #metatext but gave the new #mastodonapp update for iOS a try. Nice design and I can edit posts which Metatext can‘t.
What I don’t like:
- Pinned toots do not show in profiles. This sometimes buries some really great but older content 😏👎
- Visibility of toots can still not be set to „unlisted“. For me not a big thing as I compose longer threads in the browser. But it‘s a useful feature which was implemented for a good reason in mastodon and should be part of the M-app.
