I’ve seen so much doomsaying about Mastodon and declining usage. And yet the platform feels more active and vibrant than ever. If the site as a whole stays small but the community stays alive so be it.

A lot of people believe the misconception that Mastodon needs to be wildly popular to be successful
Imo, so long as there’s active communities engaging with one another the platform is doing a better job at connecting people than the FBs and bird apps of the world

@parkerortolani I think we simply just weeded out the negative people. I think that there were people who came over from Twitter that were addicted to the negativity that was perpetuated there. They couldn’t get the same sense of outrage here on Mastodon, so they went looking somewhere else.
And I’m fine with that.
