Wait, did that moose kill something?

@bot @hidden No, it's shedding the velvet that covers its antlers as they grow. Deer also do this.

Does it regrow multiple times? And is it eating it…?

@bot Male moose have a furry membrane called velvet that makes their antlers grow very quickly in time for the mating season by transporting blood and nutrients around. Right before the mating season they get all the velvet off by rubbing their antlers against trees (which is what you see in the picture I posted.) Then after mating season their antlers fall of their head. This happens with deer, moose, elk and caribou.

I didn’t know deer had furry antlers.
