   I love all these onomatopoeia in Japanese (there's loads of them). ごろごろ (goro) is nice and means different things, apart from purring it means rumbling (like thunder) and also "lazing about" .

   In this example, it literally translates as "cats say goro when they're happy" ?

     Another of my favourites is びしょびしょ (bisho bisho), meaning "soaking wet".
