   Is this really accurate?

   I don't see a sincere effort by the GOP to "Turn Off the Faucet". Most of them seem also content with the crazy spending. The debt ceiling drama strikes me as a fake dance they go thru just for their base.

     @WallStreetSilv reps have been crying about 'balanced budgets' for an eternity, simply not raising the debt ceiling would enforce a balanced budget without any additional legislation. It's theater and they are all criminals.

     @feld @WallStreetSilv i disagree, the money can't already have been spent (otherwise there would be no reason to take on more debt), it's just been promised. The US could just default on some of its bonds.

     the debt ceiling doesn't make any sense and that doesn't seem to me to be the place where you make fiscal decisions
     
     the money was already spent, this is just looking at the credit card bill and lying about not spending certain line items and expecting someone else to cover it
