@ai6yr Very neat overall! I'd love to add more satellite work to my repertoire, but the whole setup for two yagis on an alt-az rotator is really pricey and I suspect I'd have to mount it on top of the roof, creating leak risks I don't want.
@roadriverrail Also, my thought was to use it to monitor the ISS downlink(s) automatically... last year one of the astronauts was on quite regularly and I missed it!!
@roadriverrail Well, my initial plan was just to play around with the satellite tracking and data collection at satnogs.org -- it's open source, allows you to submit satellite logs and for people to collect them. I had everything needed to put up a station quickly (yesterday!). I had all the parts for the antenna there, so built that at lunch/coffee break today. Really it's a learning experience for me.
