   @helene this is irritating me and I can’t seem to figure out why it’s happening, and it’s probably all my fault for a silly reason.

   Markdown just doesn’t seem to work on my instance anymore. I can do all the markdown I want but the end result is just paragraph-splitting. And to demonstrate that, I’ve sprinkled Markdown throughout this paragraph to demonstrate what’s happening, or not happening rather.

   Now, I’m keen to the fact it’s probably something i’ve done, since I have a bad habit of updating pleroma-fe to develop when something goes awry with it while maintaining at the latest OTP release for the backend. Have I just screwed up markdown for my users by doing this?

     @7 do you have posts where you have that issue? objects and activities contain markdown so i could look into that and know what the issue is

     @helene It was me, I apologise for dragging you into it. I didn’t realise there was a “strip rich text” box and I still don’t know how it got checked.

     well, that happens, no worries! we should probably signal that to the FE if that's enabled so that we only allow plaintext posting in the UI

     @roboneko @helene The problem was that I didn’t know that it existed until @has pointed it out to me (and it applies to all sessions for some reason?) so no matter where I tested, rich text was being stripped. You guys were probably seeing it fine, but

     @roboneko @7 @has it's a "i don't want to see rich text features, so the checkbox exists so they're not rendered on my client" i believe? but if enabling that feature, it would seem coherent to me to disable/hide the "text format selection" dropdown
