   Good morning! Bad news: after receiving threats from State Bar prosecutors, it seems likely they will put me in jail for 6 months if I follow through with bringing a robot lawyer into a physical courtroom. DoNotPay is postponing our court case and sticking to consumer rights:

     A few of us have been looking into this, especially @kathryntewson ... The entire DnP website is littered with inaccuracies, misclassification of the law, bogus promises, and little clarity. ICYMI:

     “State bar prosecutors” aren’t a thing. And he didn’t think to consult a single person to make sure he’s using the right terminology when discussing an issue. If he’s not doing that in his announcements, do you think it’s happening in the tools his company offers?

     The unauthorized practice of law is illegal.
     But I take issue with the fact that someone is building “legal tools” who doesn’t understand the US legal system & the law. If you want to creatively solve a problem, you have to actually understand the problem you’re trying to solve.
