@guilherme If you have the Apple Remote app on an iDevice, you can use its keyboard (and your password manager) to enter your password. Annoying, but less annoying than typing a secure password via the on-screen keyboard.

Guilherme (CWB.social) (guilherme@cwb.social)'s status on Monday, 23-Jan-2023 21:22:37 JST Guilherme (CWB.social) @c Apple TVs are hostile. I gave up on mine because I was sick of typing my long, secure password with that stupid controller. Apple made me do that all the time. For a device that is plugged in the wall at a home and never left there. And where the most dangerous thing that can be done is play some movies.

hugelgupf (c@pub.waffle.tech)'s status on Monday, 23-Jan-2023 21:22:38 JST hugelgupf I own an Apple TV.
I don't own a single other Apple device. Not a one.
Every time I start the Apple TV I get this prompt now.
What do they expect me to do about this? Spend $800 on an iPhone?
