   Since I'm gonna be switching to a Linux phone (Librem 5) and my apartment complex uses this app called Latch for unlocking doors (proprietary, iOS/Android only), I went down to the leasing office to ask for a physical card (I've seen staff use them before). The lady working said she'd never heard of "a Linux" before so once it comes I'm going to have to go down there, have them manually inspect my phone to make sure that it really and truly can't run Latch, then make a special case for me to the apartment administrators to get me a card lmfao

     @fatalerrorcoded@miruku.cafe well, since the card uses more traditional NFC rather than the NFC + Bluetooth combo the apps use, it's more likely I'll be able to reverse engineer it.

     @thatonecalculator@stop.voring.me Does Librem 5 support Wake-on-WLAN and/or Wake-on-Data? The biggest roadblock preventing me from daily driving a Linux phone right now is that they cannot receive notification while in sleep due to a lack of WoWL or WoD, which is a must for me since I don't even use carrier-native voice calling and SMS (instead I use calling and SMS over XMPP)

     @cyberdystopia@minidisc.tokyo if you do, you have to memorize your door code which resets every 24 hours. But if the entire apartment loses internet or electricity, you're fucked.

     @crispycat@lea.pet I manage our wifi, but it was plugged into Ethernet even before we moved in... I haven't even attempted to connect to it yet, I'm just concerned that the apartment can track it
