     @Alex @mangeurdenuage @RehnSturm256 As I understand it, one of the ring's powers is to make people believe that they could be powerful with it while not actually having the power to deliver the power fantasy, it tries to magically seduce people with a lie.

     You are very wrong.
     Look at the Ring Wraiths. They live forever, they have access to sorcery akin to a maiar wizard, and they cannot be killed.
     And those aren't even the One Ring.
