   I'm bullish on ActivityPub/Mastodon/etc because we do need a way to have communication channels not subject to a single entity/person.

   Government should run their own communication infrastructure. ActivityPub, RSS, etc are good things here.

     @kraft I’ve always liked the quasi-decentralization of Mastadon and the federation. Still, certain problems exist in terms of infrastructure that don’t make it ironclad/resistant from deplatforming techniques we’ve seen in the past. It doesn’t solve all problems, just mitigates some of them.

     Personally looking forward to BlueSky as a potential solve, since Jack Dorsey envisioned it as the anti-Twitter, with no deplatforming capabilities. We shall see.
