     @helene @gnutard I know it's good for communication concurrency, and even phone companies use it, which is good for a fediverse server, but it doesn't change the fact that the code itself is terrifying to read and write.

     @inference @gnutard i'd recommend taking your time to go through the bare basics, if you feel like it, with e.g. https://elixirschool.com/en/lessons/basics/basics and once you've read that stuff, looking at the elixir sources to see how things are implemented :blobcatwink:

     @inference @gnutard @helene most of it is the classic "we made do as we went" spaghetti, elixir itself can be quite elegant with it's dead simple syntax and semantics, even if all the macros hide it from you
