that sounds reasonable, but at the same time you acknowledge the circumstances look different, and request both to be held equally under the law. IMHO different circumstances should not be held equally, so the argument comes across to me like "all possessions of classified document matter".

@phaedral why? Let the investigations play out. The national archives said they weren’t missing anything from the Obama administration and gave Biden the all clear. I’d like to know what the documents were and where they came from. Considering the circumstances it looks worse for Trump than Biden. But both should be held equally under the law. Democrats aren’t a cult like Trumpism. If one of ours fucks up they should face consequences like anyone else.

@justinflood That's the response the rethuglicans hope for, setting Biden and Trump cheek by jowl. It's an illegitimate frame. Just say "no".

Here's an idea. If they both were in possession of classified documents when they weren't supposed to be, prosecute both of them. It's not that hard.
