     So it feels like a trade-off.

     It's hard to use a heavier device over a longer period of time.

     There is no optimal UX to achieve here, I'm afraid.

     currently trying to think of a single example of portable tech made in the past 10 years that wouldn't have benefited from being just a few mm thicker

     portable technology would be much better if the industry didn't have an utter obsession with making things as thin as possible
