   Well no, an OS is not adequately described with just the name of the kernel.
   
   2 correct shorthands could be GNU or systemd - as GNU has GNU Linux-libre as a package (plus systemd relies on GNU) and systemd doesn't do anything without the kernel, Linux and so is always shipped alongside it.

     Everyone knows that "GNU and Linux are just a small part of the overall systemd operating system", right? ;)

     damn people really find out about PID 1 and decide if it isn't systemd then you aren't running a "regular linux distro"
