   @fredbenenson there are so many things that need to be done.

   We're fighting climate change and biodiversity collapse.

   We have epidemics of loneliness.

   We have a worldwide rise in authoritarianism.

   We have COVID-19.

   We have economic inequality.

   We have so much to do.

   Technology must be part of solving all these problems.

     Because I love you guys and the quality of conversation on Mastodon has far exceeded my expectations, here’s an idea I keep coming back to that I want to hear what you think about:

     What if the good parts of tech have just kind of run their course? I had lunch with a friend last winter and we were debating crypto and it’s utility and it just kind of occurred to me that maybe we have run out of morally good / actually exciting and decent ideas in the tech world?
