How do multiple images work in social embeds?? I can't find any good resources online... #WebDev

  @thatonecalculator@stop.voring.me Can't guarantee that's what will happen on most other sites, Discord for example works using the Twitter Cards system

  @thatonecalculator@stop.voring.me There's the OpenGraph specification, and while it says that it's mainly for resolving conflicts, some sites do use the multiple tags to show more than one image

  @thatonecalculator they don't, afaik stuff like fixtweet gets around this by combining the images together beforehand

  @esm@wetdry.world the thing is if I put a Twitter link into discord with two images, it puts both in the same embed

  @thatonecalculator afaik no embed supports sending/showing more than one image.
  to show multiple, you would need to implement something server-side that combines the images beforehand when the embed gets requested

  @thatonecalculator that's because discord doesn't use opengraphs for twitter specifically, they have custom embeds for that
