   So I tried the AI Time Machine thing which makes historical avatars. It was ok, some nice ones, a bit disappointing but... OMG what is going on with all the poky nipples?

     @toosharpbyhalf @nancybaym What is going on is sourcing images from the internet in such numbers that curation becomes impossible, and thus isn't done.

     @nancybaym @toosharpbyhalf Well, it wasn't intended as a technical answer as much as a "yes, because those making the model and releasing it don't care enough to prevent it", but I get that it didn't come through.

     @pettter @toosharpbyhalf I don’t think she was posing a technical question so much as pointing out yet another instance of AI making all the female subjects into a certain genre of sex object.

     @pettter @nancybaym I do get that, and also if not curating it means your AI acts intensely male-gazy, maybe that says something about the internet! ?
