rein (rein@poa.st)'s status on Monday, 09-Jan-2023 00:44:52 JST rein Whenever someone tells you, as a man, that it's okay to cry in public and talk about your feelings, they don't have your best interests in mind. They're gaslighting you, and I realized that it's the male equivalent of telling a fat woman she is pretty.
Everyone knows it's not true, but they say it because it makes them feel better and more of a good person for saying it. It's pure gaslighting.
No one respects a man who is a crybaby. No one.
A man can be emotional in private, but you owe it to those around you, especially the women around you, to be strong, and to be like a rock they can lean on.
If you aren't your woman's rock she will find someone else who can be.
Whining literally solves nothing. Find solutions to your real problems if you have real problems or man up.
If you have to vent, do it with your close friends, and stay dignified while doing it.
Moderating and controlling your emotions is important, at all times. It means respecting those around you, and not treating them like your emotional toilet.
Controlling one's emotions is not what gets someone bottled up with anger. If anything, indulging in anger without control just makes you do that more. It's an addiction.
No, resentment builds when you are unable to DO anything about what is making you angry. Talking won't solve it.-
