I moved here from New York after getting a job offer here. I work on the Krowverse, a hobby that is the sum of what I learned to obtain my Associate's Degree at SUNY Schnenectady. I'm competent enough to host my own instance, and I now provide open signups on Nineties Mysteries, a fully federating instance whose moderation is stronger than most Pleroma instances, but weaker than most Hometown instances. I'd rather be a good listener than shove my perspectives at you, I literally don't have the time for it. Even though this is an SUI, we have terms because adults get along with other adults when we establish healthy boundaries. The Krowverse costs $85 a month to run. I can add up to two more instances, or one extra service at no further cost.
