Seen some peeps on other instances interacting with Twitter. Would that be something you could possibly do for outerheaven.club @solidsanek?

@Maholmire Can you show me an example of that? Because the fediverse does not federate with twitter. Twitter has nothing as of now to federate this instances as well.
I'm assuming you might be talking about crossposters, which is what people use when they want all the content they post on a website to be posted on another. There are people that only join fedi to set up a crossposter for their twitter account, meaning that their content is mirrored on fedi but they never really check it. A good example of that is the one from the European Commission, where they crosspost everything on their fediverse instance but never check it :^) https://social.network.europa.eu/@EU_Commission

When you see something like @/user@twitter.com it's most likely because they're using a crossposter and therefore, are posting from twitter instead

Nah, I saw @BrodieOnLinux@linuxrocks.online reference fediverse accounts with an @twitter.com handle. Figured that there must've existed a Twitter bridge somewhere generating accounts for easier crossposting which was what I wanted to ask you about.

@solidsanek @Maholmire sorry about the empty reply. Friendica users have the option to interact with Twitter users natively, I think.

@Maholmire Oh, it's not about liking twitter or not, I actually have one that I mostly use to follow artists since, well, this is a good place to follow them until most of them move somewhere else (boorus are not always enough, and most of them only have a twitter account and nothing else). My issue is more about crossposting itself. Bots that crosspost content are not a big deal for me either, though.

The problem is more when a user claims to join fedi only to set up a bridge and never check the fediverse again. It generates fake noise and trick people into replying to them, only to realize they're never checking their fedi account to begin with. Bots being labelled as bots let you know what you're in for, while users that set up crossposters just take away the chance to interact with them.

Yeah, don't blame you for not liking Twitter or anything related to it tbh.

@Maholmire @BrodieOnLinux Yep, that's definitely a crossposter then. They're using a bridge. You can set up a bridge on your own account without needing an admin to do anything, since you'll most likely only have to log in and that's it.
But if you're asking about the names of said bridges, I have no idea. I don't use them myself, and personally dislike them so I never really looked into what people use to crosspost their content
