Question 1: What is most important to you right now about technology and the internet?
- Protecting my privacy online
- Avoiding scams
- Choosing products, apps, technology, and services that I can trust

The form is oriented to have you saying they should go for AI.
It's a pleasure to answer instead "protect online privacy".

I'm busy putting together some slide decks for a number of upcoming keynotes, particularly around - what else - AI.
It's a complex topic to take on - the art of sharing insight involves developing a narrative to get key points across, emphasize what's important, avoiding the trivial. It's a lot of work to build a good deck that will tell a great story, and I always end up putting a substantial amount of time into pulling them together.
Taking on the topic of AI risk is particularly challenging - we all know that there are big challenges, major risks, and huge misinformation issues. And yet, I need to be able to share not just up-to-the-moment risks - new ones are emerging every day - but also share information on a pathway and structure to deal with those risks.
That's why I hit upon the idea of using the slide above to open up the whole section on "AI, Ethics, and the Algorithm." Even when taking on a serious topic, you need to be able to have a little bit of fun with the audience. I'm still using my Jetsons theme a bit within the deck, so why not take on this particular issue by noting that in the original Jetsons TV series, when people weren't looking, the robotic vacuum cleaner cheated by sweeping the dirt under the rug?
In other words, the robot cheated; the algorithm was bad; the ethics were lacking.

Daily Inspiration: "The essence of leadership is finding the strategy within the hype!" - Futurist Jim Carroll
Successful CEOs aren't in the business of chasing shiny new toys - they need to chase growth!
And so they're having a heck of a year already as everyone comes at them with ideas around this year's hottest new shiny toy - AI!
My post the other day about the rapid growth in the number of AI tools and ideas drew interest from several readers who pointed out this is the dilemma they are already facing as CEOs. (I have a diverse group that follows my daily posts.) I certainly appreciate their challenge - because the history of leadership is one of having to carefully balance the enthusiasm of their team for chasing hot new trends with the reality of the need for strategic purposes.
Never has this situation become more real than it is today with AI.
It's pretty clear that right now, with an increasing interest in the topic, private equity managers are looking for insight that helps them to assess where they are going with their own investments and interests; the CEOs in their portfolios are struggling with the same issues; and overall, CEOs everywhere are in the same boat!
Without a strategic purpose, there is no purpose!
And the essence of leadership is finding the strategy within the hype.

I'm being interviewed from my home broadcast studio Monday about AI, by an AI.
It's being pumped out live to Youtube, Facebook and LinkedIn ... and will hit live.futurist.info via an @owncast server I setup. It's coming out of eCamm live with an RTMP feed into that server.
10AM Monday morning EST. You can tune in...
Does anyone want me to document the setup of how I'll do it? To me, it's pretty trivial but others might find it helpful.
