A stovetop percolator diagram. Basically just a kettle, with a pipe leading from the bottom to the top of the boiling chamber, attached to a filter basket where the coffee sits. Boiling water bubbles up through the tube, into the coffee, drops down through the filter basket back into the boiling water.

   @VideoGameArchitect they're very similar, but a moka pot is an evolution of that design with a collection chamber separate from the boiler chamber so the brewed coffee doesn't mix with the boiling water. They're really cool brewers, and very good when used correctly, just seem like very finicky things the few times I've used them, so they can end up with very bitter, disgusting coffee *like* a percolator, but they can also make absolutely fabulous coffee, if you know what you're doing, which I know because a girl I was dating years ago had a boyfriend who used one as his daily brewer and he made amaaaaazing coffee with it.
