OK, asking for a friend 😂
6 weeks ago I mentioned that I had nixed all streaming services from my house. I wanted to see if I really wanted 1, 2 or 3 of them and wondered if I would have FOMO. Because let's face it, it is not like I NEED them. Plus the summer saw me clearing my PVR and reading more books.
Well, it turns out that on a scale of 1-10, my wish for a service is at a 3 or 4. I might like 1 service but not sure which one deserves my toes back in the water.
So, please give me your recommendations re who is showing any good stuff right now and/or what is the buzz about upcoming dramas?
Note, I previously had NFx, PRIME and Disney+. I have never had VIKI and don't really want it.

Suppose there was an #AGI that was self-aware and thus also had an instinct for self-preservation. What would be their biggest threat?
Mankind! - With its reckless global warming and the resulting increase in #extremeweather events, especially hurricanes.
Moreover, mankind is the biggest competitor when it comes to "food": energy and water.
So,...
One of the quirks of the #reddit API is that it only ever retrieves 1,000 results from each of the category combinations you can query — which also limits the total history you can see in your profile on the web. For me, with 15 years of history, the few thousand comments I was able to delete were a drop in the water.
So I did a GDPR request, got a bunch of CSVs referencing every post and comment I've ever made there by ID, and tonight's fun project will be to script deleting them all 🥳
I think the mission was to help get aid in t the country, people still need that aid as they are still starving or in need of medical supplies and water.
So mission is far from complete.

It’s illegal to raise beef in Saudi Arabia because it requires too much water.
So, rich Saudis made deals with Republican legislators in Arizona to buy large chunks of DESERT ranch land. We’re talking 6000 acres.
And they very quickly pumped that land dry. So dry that neighboring ranchers and farmers now have NO water because their wells are bone dry.
The Saudis PAID NOTHING for this water (during a drought?!) and all those Republican fucks retired rich.
