@Nickname @randahl I have the same problem with people who use hashtags wrong.
My only recourse is to block them right now so that next time I browse a hashtag, they won't show up, polluting my feed. I wish I can browse a hashtag and exclude people...😩
I really don't get the NixOS/Anduril thing. Lots of complaints about arms dealers, and I'm not a fan of Thiel, don't get me wrong.
My understanding is that NixOS is free software, so Anduril aren't prohibited from using it, right?
If they are using it, why wouldn't you accept their contributions back upstream if they are useful?
Wouldn't we me more mad if they were using it and keeping all the changes to themselves?
Reddit can be a useful knowledge base, but there are certain subject areas where the consensus voice will confidently, clearly, emphatically state something that is simply wrong.
My current irritation is r/sailing, which has a large number of people who have clearly never sailed beyond the yacht club bar, or maybe a small lake, and have precisely zero clue about the interplay between wind and current (because they never experience the latter), spouting off bullshit with authority.
And there’s no point arguing with them, but my god, the extent to which they are smug about being wrong is irritating as fuck.
@footenotes
Extremely unlikely. I’m sure he still thinks he gets out of this scott free. And I’m not sure he’s wrong.
My most hoped-for outcome is that all the other people who were afraid to go first start bringing their charges too.
