Well this is a good reminder I guess to use a password manager and TOTP 2 factor authentication. I personally use Bitwarden and (you don’t need to do this) I personally self host my own Bitwarden server using Vaultwarden but if you don’t want to do that or don’t know how to, that’s reasonable. I use Vaultwarden because it gives all the paid Bitwarden features for free such as built in TOTP. If you want to use Bitwarden’s default server (which is set by default in Bitwarden so you don’t have to worry about it), that also works fine but to get access to the built in TOTP you have to pay $10 a year for Bitwarden Premium (which isnt a bad price at all). If you don’t want to do that then you’ll want a TOTP app. For simplicity and convivence I recommend Authy since it can sync between your computer and your phone. Also a lot of apps and services refer to TOTP as “Google Authenticator” but that’s just because Google Authenticator is the most popular TOTP app. Anything that labels TOTP as “Google Authenticator” is just saying TOTP, and it doesn’t matter what TOTP app you are using.
