   went back to this spot today. it was not quite as colorful as in this picture, but still very pretty. lots of snow on the ground with the brown stalks of dead plants sticking through.

   the most exciting part about snow for me is seeing all the little animal tracks in the snow. i'm no expert at tracks but i believe i saw the tracks of quite a few deer, opossums, squirrels, birds, mice, and coyote. there was one i really didnt recognize though.

   it looked as if someone had dragged a dirty box through the snow. it was one long track moving between ponds and trees. i still am not sure what it could have been. maybe just a well worn deer path? a beaver? a person? there were no human footprints near it
