NYC used to have 2 fire depts, New York Fire Patrol, closed in 2006. One of their members died on 9/11 and is sometimes left off memorials.

His name was Keith M. Roma, he had saved 3 groups of civilians, including carrying a shoeless woman over the fields of broken glass, and his body was found with another group he was trying to lead to safety.
